Havent got patience but I have lots of time LOL.

Best bet is to purchase the basic digital package and you will have it working straight away ;)

Sorry Karl I was saying he maybe just had an analogue connection. Your basic connection is still digital but just a basic package with less channels, therefore yours should work.

    Lads,

Was thinking about this myself! As my cable has been in for 20 years I assume I am still recieving an analogue signal. I am however getting my new ntl signal installed in new apt. tomorrow. Does this mean that where you recieve your 17 basic ntl channels over co ax now it is a digital signal(Despite lack of box etc....)

    Hope that makes sense :)

Hi Conor I think we have stepped into a grey area. Firstly I presume you are getting a basic digital package in your new place. Secondly going back to your original problem what does it say on your N** bill regarding the cable we spoke of yesterday?

Just checked the ntl bill it says "Basic TV Pack" on my current N"" bill. Was going to get the basic pack for the new place too! as I thought this was enough to rub the box!

Yes now you have me going over my words as I am not sure whether you have digital or analogue. Can you ring N** and ask as basic may also imply digital cable. Sounds like digital to me where is the general area of your new apartment. Is it still Drumcondra? As I was going over a few things last night and you are in a digital area.

6952 is a UK symbol rate. Strange that it worked in Ireland but worth a go.

Ah I see sorry Karl all Starviews have this problem as they continually change to TW as the network provider until you manually change it to NTL,even then when you go back onto your provider screen say for rescan purposes it will have TW again, bit of a pain. Although I told conor to do this on the previous page so he should have checked that.
