my nokia 6030 is an RM-225. Does this mean I cannot unlock it with a free code?

I bought it in the States and was assured it would work in the UK, but I didn't realise that although it was on T-Mobile and we have T-Mobile over here that it would somehow be locked.

To be able to unlock the models listed above (not the BB5 section) you can get the code from your network provider or by taking the phone to a shop / Pro to be unlocked directly.

    Be careful.
I understand that you only have three chances. If you
hard lock the phone by entering wrong codes, not even
the original provider can unlock it by code. [/bold]
