I'm on my second DVD Recorder and still have not gotten anything to burn yet! The transcoding goes fine in the authoring software and then when it comes time to Burn, I get a communication error and the process fails. Both the DVD Recorder's drives read discs and plays DVD's just fine, but when it comes time to burn, they both fail on me. Any sugestions? DMA in the hardware settings has been checked..

What program are you using to burn with?
What brand of media are you trying to write to?

Are your drive internal IDE or External?

First, use a rewritable DVD until you fix the problem. Yes, it would help if you could post an error log file of a faile burn since the details are somewhat lacking right now. Are you using Nero? Can you check if your ASPI files are corrupt or not? Since it's a communication error, I'd check for loose cables to/from your burner too. Update your burner firmware (and drivers if you're not running Win XP).
