Windows 98 And FLASH FXP Help

I cannot link my Xbox to my computer on WINDOWS 98. I was able to connect on a friends computer using windows XP. I have a ethernet card and cable and trying to use FLASH FXP. Can anyone help PLEASE. Every time I try to connect it IT ALWAYS TIMES OUT. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM IF YOU CAN. THANKS SO MUCH

 

i had the same problem using xp are your firewalls switched off(this was my problem). also is it an eathernet cable or a cross over cable you are using

 

I am using a ethernet cable and do not have a firewall but it still times out everytime.

 

if you are direct connecting pc to xbox (i.e not through a router) then you need a cross over cable also have a look here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/148271
