    Hi All,

I've recently reinstalled Windows XP on a wiped-clean hard drive and, in the process, installed Windows Media Player 11.

It showed mpegs and avis all dark, very underlit, and with an ungodly reddish hue.

I removed the program and it asked me if I wanted to revert to Player 9. How it knew I'd had that before the reinstall, I'll never know.

    Anyway.....didn't fix the problem.

Have I angered the MSFT gods?

    Anybody know of a fix?

    Thanks,

    Pat

Check video overlay settings in video card driver configuration.

What is video image when play in Media Player Classic used VMR9?

What is video image when open in VirtualDub?

    Thanks for the replies, guys.

I did something I should've thought of before I bothered the forum group.

I rummaged around in my closet and found the original packaging for my video card and reinstalled the drivers.

    Problem solved.

    Thanks,

    Pat
