i just got an ooooooooold computer (socket 7) and it has windows xp on it

i do not really know who the owner was, and windows has a password. I tried clearing the bios, and took the battery off, but i still dont know how to remove the password.

If any body knows, i would appreciate it

meh. you don't want to be running used windows, anyway. you don't know what kind of crap is on there. best thing to do is do at least 2 low-level formats and the install windoze.

well, if it's a prebuilt, the key is on the case. if it's not, there should be a key somewhere in the paperwork. all you have to do is borrow the appropriate disc and install away.

depends on the version that key is for & the version of the xp cd that you have.
