windows xp won't acknowledge my sata harddrive

    i need some help, i have a nforce 590 sli motherboard, and i have a western digital 250 gig sata hard drive. well to make a long story short i had to restore my computer, and now i'm reinstalling windows but it doesn't see my sata drive to partition it. i tried putting the cd in the pc that came with the hard drive but it does nothing. i know the sata drives work because when i look in my bios its there. i don't get it, what can i do to get the windows xp disk to see my hard drive. can someone help me please
