   How to force ffdshow to show subtitles when using windvd and playing (avi,xvid,divx).

   I had the same problem and after some searching I found VSFilter 2.33. Now I can play subtitles in WinDVD 6 with no problems.
   
   The link below explains where to download the latest and how to install the dll file.
