Won't burn, or read sometimes.

    I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 with a Dell DVDRW. It seems lately that it won't write properly. When it writes the movies becomes choppy and skippy. Sometimes it only reads movies that have been burnt as well, it has no problems reading movies that I rent. I ran a bios and diagnositics, which didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    did you try cleaning the head & also how old is drive

    no I haven't tried cleaning it, i will though. the drive is only 7 months old
