Ok I am using TMPGenc to convert my .avi file (Xvid) and it converted it with like over an hour of nothing at the end just blank. It also had no audio when i converted it. What could I do?

Can you see the file with the PC (that is: do you have the Xvid codec installed?)? Usually the TMPGenc's conversion never leaves a black screen. You can also check it in the 'preview' screen or in the 'Settings --> Advanced --> Select Range' screen.
Audio problems are different: as you can see in http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/129217, TMPGenc cannot convert the .AC3 sound and you need to convert AC3 --> MP2, first.

when you open a film to encode go to the cut edit screen and scroll along to the credits and hit set as end frame button
