      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I posted this in the Hardware section and then realised that I probably should have posted it here instead. <br />
<br />
I&#039;ve been trying to burn a DVD to my Mac and the DVD has three optional subtitles (English, Spanish and German) and when I burn the DVD choosing the English subs they appear very faint, as opposed to the same subs on the actual DVD which appear clear and bright.<br />
Is there any way to fix this?<br />
I initially used Tipard Mac Video Converter and then tried HandBrake, but I get the same...<br />

I tried reading through some of the other threads but did not find anything that I could get to work.  I have been trying to figure out how to make a DVD that works on any free standing DVD player. I&#039;m trying to rip my dvds of TV shows to a hard drive.<br />
<br />
I&#039;m coming across the problem of that the episodes are split into 2 separate VOB files. I wish to rip the whole episode as one single avi file (only known format my tv reads from external source)<br />
<br />
I know that .IFO files can read it as a single episode. So if anyone knows of a program to does this and maybe a guide would be gratefully appreciated.<br />

I believe, at least a couple of yrs., ago it was legal to copy one backup disk if I purchased the original.  I&#039;ve seen the Roxio software but it doesn&#039;t handle most dvd&#039;s because they are encrypted.  I used to have a pc and I downloaded DVD Fab Platinum.  It did it all. They only accept .mov or .wmv files no larger than <b>60 MB</b>. My file is <b>750 MB</b>.  I used Quicktime Conversion within Final Cut Pro to create the .mov file, but the video which is in 16:9 aspect ratio was converted to 4:3. <br />
<br />
1.) Is there a better way to get this file smaller without changing aspect ratio?  Again, the file must be no larger than <b>60 MB</b>.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a problem where the quality of my video decreases DRAMATICALLY when I format it for youtube through iMovie. I hacked an iMovie template to use a custom border. The videos load into iMovie fine and the border looks good.<br />

I downloaded a movie (Pride and Prejudice) in Hungarian, an. avi file. The movie plays perfectly on my Mac in RealPlayer (and VLC). I put it in iDVD and previewed and it was perfectly playing in Hungarian before I burned it. I burned it on a DVD and when I play it on the TV the movie plays in both...<br />

I ripped a DVD while keeping the settings to select the rip destination to an external Hard Drive that was not connected to my computer...(I use a Powerbook G4 1.67Ghz Power PC.<br />
<br />
Somehow, the whole DVD was ripped, but I cannot find the file!  My external Hard Drive was not connected.  Internal Hard Disk space was used up (about 7GB) but the file is no where to be found!<br />
