My setup is iomega home media server, PS3, XBOX 360 all wired CAT 6e wiring. On to the problem I use Visual Hub on mac using settings ITunes H.264 encoding. I have done my entire movie library using those settings but it seems lately those files do not show up on the PS3 to be played and some do not. The same with the XBOX it seems all the files I have created lately do not show up. I changed all the file extensions to .m4v because that is the only way the XBOX will even show them. If I leave the file as .mp4 the PS3 sees the new file the XBOX does not.
So my question is there a video inspector program that will let me examine which codecs are being used and try to determine if I am converting the files a different way that allows some to show up as .m4v and others to show up as .mp4.
