Nope. I'm annoyed by both, but I don't let people I don't know get under my skin like that. If you ever run across the one thread I can remember ever posting to when I was pissed off you'll know it.

Actually when I see a post that has the word help in it at all I'm amused. I figure somebody wasted effort typing the word. Like we didn't know they were looking for help!

I am really starting to like you guys, I know I am only a newbie but I did alot of reading in this forum and got information off of this fourum before I even joined and at first I thought some of you were rude but after reading and responding to some of the other post I understand your attitude, I have noticed that people start threads ask a question and then they never post again so why bother that is annoying but I can also see why some of them may get scared off by the responses they get sometimes lol.
Praetor me and you had a discussion about bin and cue files on a thread but the guy who asked the question in the first place has not responded but my favorite has got to be the one that says
HELP PLZZZ and this is what he wrote:
well i am new here can ne1 tell ne software like sony sound forge
and ofcourse Nephilim's response was funny and cheeky as usual
Which even I had to say that was bad
I also want to thank you vurbal for being so helpful to me with my first post but I guess as you guys can see I am no one hit wonder I bite back and I do have some computer knowledge even if my nickname is Derr
so I dont just ask questions but try to help out to if I can but I think there should be some way dealing with the one offs maybe make people wait 5 days after signing up before they are aloud to post that way they will either have to take the time to read through the guides and forums or else they wont bother, but the serious people will wait it out and may learn something and find their answers while they wait. Just a suggestion.

Derr_lol: I answered one of your posts on another thread with a very unhelpful joke about a different matter. I aspologize.

I think you get promoted from Newbie based on the number and relative quality of your posts. Do try to be concise and clear. If you have the ability, using paragraphs, periods, decent(not perfect) spelling and grammar is appreciated.

I asspologize again. Like I said: 'not perfect'...

As far as making newbies wait 5 days, I doubt such a decision would be wise. I don't think I would be posting now if, on my first visit trying to find some information, I was told: 'come back in 5 days'. I am afraid there always will be some degree of aggravation within any internet forum. '1 post wonders' and lack of grace and gratitude will always exist.

It's ok I knew you were joking the anger management thing kinda gave it away, and I try to spell correctly for the most part but as I have noticed no one is perfect in that respect, I just get carried away when I am typing sometimes, I have placed several post throughout this forum from asking questions to answering questions. I may be new to this forum but I am sure not new to computers or the net and up until now I have not had a reason to join but I finally got stuck and I am glad I did because I really enjoy this forum even with the smart remarks, most of them I find funny. I have not responded to the other post you left me, but I was just going to say ha ha very funny, but its all good, everyone gets initiated when they first join a group so I just take it all in stride. Oh and as far as the 5 day thing that is what Doom does that is where I got the idea from but then again your right, I am here and not there but I did read up on their information though and did get some helpful tips from there as well but not as good as the ones I got here so I will stick with Afterdawn.

Im a big fan of the one posts, and an even bigger fan of the ppl that post answers that lead the 'questioner' even deeper into the dark
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/86778
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/88845
Or ppl that ask 'i have downloaded a movie/game but cant burn it'
Or ppl that post 'help plzzzzz' as a topic
Or PpL ThAt TyPe LikE ThIs
    Or like elite h4x0r5
Or the ones that ask for serials for programs because they lost theirs
Or ask something like 'why do i need a dvd burner?'

The list could go on forever but they all make up the afterdawn community

Oh and dont forget this one:
I dont know if this is where I am suppose to be but I need HELP!
but I have to admit the one I got stuck on was getting my dvd onto cdrw but with a helpful person I got the correct information and made a successful copy.
What some people need to realize about newbies though is that there are alot of people who really dont know much about computers at all and maybe they do read some of the guides and discussion but they dont understand the lingo ( it just dont make since to them) and they are looking for explanations in simple terms they can understand and when they recieve harsh responses they are not to inclined to reply. When I first posted I got harsh remarks as well but like I said I bite back and when I did I got some more positive results and it turns out that I did not ask a dumb question, I just did not give enough detail, so maybe if someone places a post that is at least legible, it might be a nice idea if someone tries to be nice first and if they are not in the right place direct them where to go.

Im still laughing at the laser flares

I'll be the first to admit i know sweet fa about burning using anthing other than shrink/nero or shrink/decrypter (if it aint broke why fix it) and was lucky enough to get ulead video studio with my burner for my personal movies. But i think alot of the time ppl make it hard for them selves, both in getting help and getting respect.
    I liken it to driving
L plates=newbie still learning and should be reading up on how to do it
P plates=Junior member got their licence but still needs to read up and figure out whats goin on
Unrestricted=member+ Sorted out the bugs and starts helping the L plater get their licence. However this step would be alot easier if the L plater would ask coherent questions. And in no way am i saying all newbies are like this, some already know how to drive :)

A bit of light humor is okay but this is starting to turn into a gangbeat and finger pointing session.
