    When i play a standard video file (.wmv) my cpu spikes to 97-100% cpu usage. I dont know what is going on.

    Specifications:

    VIA iDOT PC3500G PC-1 Mainboard - 1.5Ghz C7-D

    * Processor: VIA C7-D 1.5GHz
    * Chipset: VIA CN896 + VT8237S
    * Memory: 2 x DDRII slots, Up to 2GB. Supports DDRII 667/533/400 memory (1 Gb OCZ DDR2 now)
    * LAN: VIA VT6107 10/100 Base-T Ethernet
    * Audio: Realtek ALC883 (support 8 channels)
    * Graphic: VIA UniChrome Pro IGP (VIA CN896) @ 1280x1024 pixels

    Installed all the latest drivers.

    Could it be a bios problem? Sometimes i get a "Cpu ratio warning",
    can't see anything in bios so i don't know what to do.

    Thank You.

    it could be that the cpu is underpowered. but you could try to install k lite codec pack and see if that helps at all. maybe the codec you have now just sucks. also try a virus scan.

    My 1600+ (1.4ghz) athlon can run the same file at less than 10% usage. I installed k lite but it made no diffrence.

    Thank you for help.
