I'm going to get a new TV and have recently seen 100hz TVs on the market (in UK). I was wondering what's so special about them, does it improve fast motion video? Max budget is about £1000 but would rather spend below £800; 1080p, high contrast ratio and 37"+ are preferble features. Any suggestion on a suitable set?

100hz are supposedly an improvement over the 50hz tvs, but I've heard that the hz is supposed to reach 150hz before motion blur is reduced to being negligable.

The best comparison is by your eyes. If you can't see the difference, it's probably not worth the price.
