I've been avoiding this thread for some time now, you may've noticed.

The reason why I have been doing so is because I've had no TV to watch the world cup on, I've been going round friends houses to watch games so when I got home it just didn't feel right talking about the games and reminding me of the sad fact that my 2 week old Philips HD Plasma f**ked up on me, after negotiations Currys refunded my cash and more in vouchers allowing to toput it towards a much better TV :D

Got myself a 42" Samsung HD Plasma with a really impressive LG home cinema kit, 500 watt sound in total, which is pretty loud to say the least, that means my world cup has just got a whole lot better!

You have to feel for the Aussie after the Italy game, I know if it was England in that match and Italy where awarded a penalty where and when they did from a dive and to win the game as a result of this, I probably would've been in tears...very unlucky, The Aussie played well and all, deserved to win that game :(

England V Portugal next, start praying.

My mates 42" plasma screwed up on him 1 month out of warranty! I would prefer a 42" DLP (Texas DLP that is). Lot less to go wrong.....

Never been keen on plasmas or LCDs.

I'm personally going for Argentina Just cause I think they have the team to go all the way. I personally don't wanna see Brasil get another one. It will make the world cup boring for me.

Yeah they are and to be fair argentina has had a more difficult world cup than germany so they should be a bit more on form.

(but i still dont like them)

Yeah, they're both great, and in a sense, at least for them, is a final game. Just hope they play their best and don't make ugly fouls.

Sixty minutes in and Argentina's playing some excellent football. They're doing a great job shutting down Germany and at 1-0 Germany's going to have a hard time recovering.

Kudos to Germany for such a great comeback! Sadly Argentinas second string goalie (bless his heart) was outclassed by Germany's strikers for the penalty kicks. Couple that with the fact that Lehmann is a world class goalie going up against some very tired Arentine strikers and you have a great win by Germany.

Interestingly my last name, Brown, was originally Braun when me family first came to America from Germany. Sadly it was changed during the war when it was "better" to have a less German sounding name :(

I could change it but I honor the decision they made to change it :)

Wow, Ukraine got stomped. They had some nice opportunities but couldn't capitalize on them. At least they can say they made it as far as they did, which more than most others can say :)

Brazil and France should be an exciting one!

I'm thinking it'll be England and Brazil in the end.

I still think the final to be Germany-Brazil. Not too sure about the semis. England-Portugal, I dunno, leaning towards the English, but...
