recived my graphics card this morning, do i need to do anything before i swap them over? ie uninstall drivers, install new drivers or anything else? thanks
If you're running an ATI card right now and have the Catalyst drivers already installed, then no you don't need to do anything. If you have another companies drivers installed you should uninstall them through Add/Remove and then run Driver Cleaner 2 and RegClean to get rid of the remaining bits in your registry. Let us know how things work out once you get your card installed, it might help me get through the I want a new 8X or 12X dual layer DVD recorder by plextor but they are unavailable blues.
ive done all the things youve said, uninsatled drivers, cleaned the reg ect, Should i have an ATI desktop manager like i had with nvidia? if so do you know where i can get it. also ive played ravenshield and it dosent seem alot different, my FPS is running around 40fps is this right?
its going at about 50fps now, and it does look smother i havent done any setup up or settings for it cause i cant find them, do i need to do the settings if so what is the best settings to have? ive only got ulead photoexpress and its pretty crap whats a good program for making pictures, visuals, and that kinda stuff.
To get to settings, right click on an empty space on your desktop. To the top right choose settings and then at the bottom right choose acvanced. At the top you should see several options and the red ATI symbols to their left of each option. If you still feel you aren't getting to the options or settings that you would like, then you can go to www.ati.com and download the latest drivers and control panel. when you feel comfortable enough with setting your card up, then you can locate and download the omega optimized ATI drivers. But for now I would recommend that you stay with the tried and true. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." Im so hurt by that .... to think someone would suspect that I hang out in "ATI territory" is just plain wrong Now... if they had a "complaints" section ... I'm there!
