My little sister just graduated high school and I am going to get her a laptop for college. I did some reading and research and decided a 32 bit OS is the thing for her. She's not all that computer savvy. Now, my question is, "does it matter all that much which processor I get?" I am leaning towards an Intel Core 2 Duo - T5550 1.83 gig.

I don't know if there is a 32 bit or 64 bit choice. Anything beyond a HTT processor is beyond me. I appreciate any input.

32-bit OS without a doubt. If it's a Core 2 Duo CPU (not the old Core Duo) it should be 64-bit compliant, but with a 32-bit OS that's irrelevant.
