Bobby321: Welcome to the forums. Copy to copy is no problem,I use Nero Recode 2 to recopy stuff made with XCopy xpress & Platinum you can even edit out more bits before burning and the great thing is you can specify how many copies you want to do from the 1st master. Happy burning! ispy

I used to be able to use Nero to copy a copy but the newer versions (example 321 version 3.2.1) will not copy a copy. Nero (and several other programs) read to the last 500 bytes & crash.

    ispy,

    Thanks,

I will try disabling my anti-virus. My problem occurs during the read. Nero 5, Nero 6, and SonicDVD all read down to less then 1 meg and crash. They all crash at the same spot. I tried them with three different movies. Nine attempted reads and nine aborts at the last few bytes. Using the same programs I can copy a DVD made with my older version of DVDXcopy Express. The problem started with version 3.2.1 of DVDXcopy Express.

NormS: Do you have any other processes runing in the background? I have found even leaving my printer & scanner turned on but not in use can affect the read! which can then screw up the burn as well.If you are using XP you can disable programmes that startup in the background to make sure of no conflics also 321 studios have a blacklist of conflicting programmes. The worst one I had was Roxio Easy CD Creator.Ive seen it mentioned as being bad news on a lot of sites. Cheers

    ispy,

I have disabled all running processes including Norton Internet Security/Anti Virus. Same result. Since it always occurs at the same exact place (very end of the read)and happens with three different burners I have to suspect a copy protection scheme. I think DVDXcopy 3.2.1 writes a bad file at the very end of the copy it writes. I think my copy programs are unable to read past that point, give up and abort.

You are sure right about Roxio. I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. It totally trashed my system. I think it rewrote every DVD and CD driver on my system. It killed Nero, DVDXcopy Express, DVD Now, Sonic My DVD, DVD Complete etc etc. Reading the problem files it seems to boil down that it is not recommended you have any other DVD programs installed. It conflicts with everything and destroys their drivers with it's own. It made a mess! I had to do a complete system restore to get rid of it and the damage it created.I now have a totally useless $80 program.

NormS. Try clearing your Temp folder out, also if you an unistaller/reg cleaner programme you could run that to see if any remnants of programmes you unistalled were left behind, some programmes uninstallers are not very efficiant. Also Windows Explorer might show any bits left. Good Luck. Stuff Roxio!

I just thought I'd say, 321gone has worked on the 'Platinum' copier for me easily, not just on the Xpress within platinum.

When using 321Gone!! in the Platinum mode, are you saying that you're able to remove the intro screen when copying the FULL MOVIE contents or just when you copy the MOVIE only?
