I just jailbroke my 3g phone with 2.2.1 firmware on it. I used quickpwn to do it. I went through all the steps and when it was finished it said it was successful. when it was done it restarted itself and then just basicly froze on the boot screen with the pineapple logo. did i do something wrong? has anyone else encountered this?

what you need to do is put the iphone in dfu mode and restore the iphone. Then jailbreak it again. The way you put it to dfu mode is: Turn on your iphone until the apple logo shows, hold the sleep/wake button for 10 seconds and then plug in your iphone to the computer. then hold the home button. If this doesn't work then pm me.
