Syba SIL3114 chipset 4 port. I will use only one port to use the hdd in my ide desktop. I will also use the same tower to CLONE SATA from IDE drive. Does it matter which of the 4 ports I use? Which ribbon position for the IDE? What jumper? A single IDE and a SINGLE SATA. Only the sata will be used. Save the IDE and CLONED SATA drives. I tried using my IDE in MIDDLE position, jumpered to SLAVE. No detection. For cloning both set to CS. FROM drive at end, TO drive in middle. When cloned TO drive moved to end. CS jumper left or removed for the WD drive I am using. All advice welcome.

moved to correct forum due to poster's blindness as not a windows issue.
