can buy a bare bones laptop that contains motherboard, case, psu & screen. you just add the cpu, ram, hd & possible rom drive if it is not part of bare bones system.
no as there is no name laptops using named brand parts. friend's wife's laptop is a no name using an ecs p4 board. another custmer is using an asus board in a no name laptop.
