Hi I seem to be stuck on this problem so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got my Sony 5.1 surround sound system hooked directly into my HTPC via toslink (optical) cable. I get great 5.1 sound when I use Windows Media Center to play DVDs, so I know my connections and cables are fine. However when I try to use MPC to play .MKV files or even .IFO DVD files I only get 2 channel sound.

I know the files in question have 5.1 sound encoded, so why can't MPC play it? What am I over looking? Again any help would be much appreciated.
