Can anyone confirm or deny that you can get 5.1 sound (via digital optical out) from a Sky HD box that's only receiving a standard definition picture? Or is 5.1 audio confined soley to the HD signal as I suspect? I just phoned sky and asked them. Said they had no idea. Told me to check the website. Told them I already had and the info wasn't there. Told me to Google it!!! Morons! Surely this is a reasonable standard question. Cheers.
One more thing fellas, I have this big pimpy audio system right. So, if I send a regular stereo audio feed to it, and put it through 5.1 speakers; will it (could it) (should it) enhance the audio quality. Or would it reduce it. Is stereo sound best heard through 2 speakers, as god intended? Apologies. I realise this is in the wrong forum, but it related to my first question.
