np ddp, I took it for an English project and locked it so kids couldn't get in it (I have English first but, couldn't take it home till the end of the day.) I locked it up so kids won't mess with it while i couldn't supervise it. Then, much to my suprise, I couldn't get it to open when i took it home :(

Well, I got the lock fixed but, now some virus found its way onto my PC and so it won't boot into Windows (I somehow got a new virus, Kaspersky didn't detect it, I scanned the file before i ran it) The virus was a massive payload virus and it deleted everything (as far as i can tell) on my hard drive :(

    I talk about it here:

Pete' right. Its not much difference from Senior to Addict. Its just a name. If you think about it, after enough time everyone will be addicts.

can always try different levels of addict like junior & senior addicts

i think in retrospect that they shouldnt have bowed to the pressure and changed the way the posts were tallied for people to go up.In time we are really going to be inundated with an abundance of addicts.
You may have a point about: junior addict = 2500 posts
    senior addict = 5000 posts

etc as havent we noticed a lot of change in the quality of posts

i think the ones who have been around longer have better chance than newer ones tho there are exceptions like me who started on oct 15 2004 & now have 3233 posts. some posts are not of quality as don't need quality when getting back at spammers

i've been here since aug 2002 ,and have just realised that i must'nt have much to say or am not that knowlegeable as my post count is still a long way from addict

    that is quite a tally!!!!!

I always thought there should be one upper level just below the mods that should still be hand picked by the mods and admins. Maybe like one new title but I know how they feel about it and respect the reasons they don't want to get into that type system again. But like I said in enough time everyone will be AD Addicts so the titles are not important anymore. Just keep the quality of your posts at a high level and refrain from the useless junk and the other members will learn to respect you for your answers and knowledge, not for the title under your name.

i think the ones who stay the long run have a better chance if they would post more that is than the ones who stay the short term so they can get a title to brag to other people. Nephilim & i know of 1 individual who is more likely short time & just wants a good title so that people think he/she is knowlodgeable but really isn't

Thats the big drawback with the present system and it was brought up right after it was started. Its all automatic and not really any control over it. But there were problems and arguments with the old system too. There isn't any perfect system or way to do it. I hadn't looked at my post count in almost 6 months until this thread was posted and then realized I was close to the 2500 posts. I'm on here 3 or 4 times a day and only post to actual questions. I don't care about the title that much but its nice to see I made it to Addict. It doesn't change my way of answering questions or making posts. I still try to treat the newbies with some respect and don't jump them just because of a dumb question or one that been repeated many times. Some don't know there is a search feature until you tell them the first time. Its all in a days work that I enjoy doing. Being a service manager and dealing in customer relations 5 days a week gets you use to working with people at different levels of knowledge.

At one time quality was treasured. Now that numbers are what it's all about, I've seen quite a change. Some pple who used to make a single post, listing all of the pple asking questions in a thread, now they make indivual posts to answer each and every person asking questions on that thread.

As we've all seen, the testing thread gets a major workout. Me, on those few times I've used it – I edit one of my own posts over again so as not to run a numbers count up.

I suppose I'll won't ever learn to make 3-word posts either BUT it's just not my particular style :D)

You guys go . . . I just ask that why you see me on the beach, you won't kick sand in my face – Lol :p)
