8x burner

    I bought a 8x burner and the 8x dvd but the burner only burns at 2x if anyone can help me out. thanks

    What program are you burning with? You can change the burn speed in some software usually under the settings tab.

    I am burning with nero using shrink I have tried to adjust the setting but it only has 2x as the speed.. I know I bought and 8x drive and I have 8x dvd disc the 4x also burn at the same speed... I also have an 4x dvd burner on the same computer could this be causing my problem? thank you for your replys

    I did the check to see if the drives are in DMA and both are in DMA

    Did you run drive speed test on both DVD burnners in Nero. Try that also put in your blank DVD and go to Nero and run nero drive speed makes ure the seting for the DVD your having trouble with is set to max speed.

    Try updating your firmware for that drive. It just may not be recognizing your blank media correctly, but this is ushually what most firmware's fix. What is the make & Model of your drive?

    I am using a lite-on dvdrw ldw-811s if you could let me know where to update this firmware that would be great.. thank for your help.
