A good retailer for R4 DS?

Do you think I should buy here?

Echostore. I'm not sure about it, but it has a good price and it's just about the only place I've really seen.

Does anybody have a specific recommendation of a store to buy from? I'm absolutely sick and tired of my Max Media Dock and want to replace it. Badly.

Price really isn't a big issue, I don't need the memory card, I can use my 2gb Kingston card I use as my cell phone memory and replace it with a small 32mb~ card.


So, my question to you: Where would you buy your R4? I need one, badly. Preferably the up-to-date version.

 

from what I herd alot of ppl bought their R4s from there. I got mine for 40 bucks at realhotstuff.com they are also located in the united states but they are out of stock at the moment =\

you can ALWAYS update the r4 just by going into their main website and downloading the newest update.

What can I do if they don't follow through, do they have some kind of backup for it? It's through Paypal, something of which I know nothing about... Contrary to, say, Amazon.

 

Try, cause according to news, I just heard that R4DS was SUED BY NINTENDO and they have closed factory and stop production, if you look it up you wont find it, your best bet will be to go for the EZFlash 5 or some equivalent to R4DS, go to sky2k.com as well they still sell, you wont be able to find in the US anymore, look them up in Canada

 

i HIGHLY doubt that nintendo sued the R4 company. you didnt provide any facts this happened, i even googled and typed it in different ways and found nothing. They would def have something about it on their official website if that happened and of course nothing about it there either.

I didn't think you were stupid. I just thought it was funny. I agree with you entirely that saying "This is what I heard but don't bother to look it up because you won't find it" is lame. I thought it was also pretty funny.

Since I have heard this "Nintendo sued R4" rumor several times, there may be something to it but, like you, I didn't find anything on Google.

I did like the quote from Nintendo which essentially said even if they stopped the R4, there is still the M3, the G6, Cycloid, the this, the that, etc, etc etc.

 

I heard it from a guy that bought my R4DS for $90, he said that he found somehwere Nintendo had Sued R4DS of course I did not believe him, but after trying to REBUY my R4DS discovered that some stores no longer have them... strange right? Still I will request the info from the guy and post it here WHERE did he find that RUMOR or FACT!

On Echostore, they said they had R4's back in stock as of 12/26. So, unless it's total fraud, they still have them, and they must be in production.

Am I right?


If no one has a specific reason which you can specifically support as to why I shouldn't purchase here (Or why I should purchase elsewhere, say, they had a lower price or a better reputation) I'm going with Echostore.

I bought an R4 from echostore at the beginning of December. I had no problems. I received e-mails updating the status of the order. In fact, it even arrived in a box, as opposed to an envelope (other companies have sent them in an envelope that gets smashed). Overall, I was very happy. I was going to order more from there, but they were out of stock, so I went to a Hong Kong store instead. I would have no problem buying from them again.

I bought R4 from this shop, they send me an OLD and DEFECTIVE R4. They will replace the bad device if I only send it to CHINA. What the hell, CHINA!!!

I'm from US, they have a shop on CANADA and they dont want me to send it to CHINA. The shipping to CHINA is too expensive.

I'm exchanging emails with them. Finaly they give me a phone number from CHINA. Unfortuantely their cutomer service barely speak english... WHAT AN IDIOT... They sell product to US and they dont speak english...

Okay, I went and bought mine through Amazon. Why? I realize you guys have helped and I thank you for it, but you guys can only be SO reputable, since I really don't know you guys that well.

A 10$ increase in price isn't that bad for peace of mind and 2 day shipping over a weekend.

I have my R4, bought from NXPgames. It's 1.11 firmware and works with every ROM I have. Thank you guys, though.

 

I havent had any problems with Sky2k, they gave me a GOOD customer support. So I am happy with that.
