the dm800 will have different features and the menus on the different images will be different .putting in a c line or f line into cccam is the same however the method of installing cccam via your remote control will vary on different images .

you can still flash the box using dreamup (but a dm800 requires a newer version of dreamup that said the process is much the same)but where a dm500 will take about 12 minutes to flash a dm800 will take about 45 minutes .the benifit of dreamboxes above the dm500 such as the dm800 or the dm500hd is that you can flash them via web browser ,flashing via web browser takes only a few minutes as opposed to 45 minutes using dreamup.

before flashing a dm800 you need to know what sim the box is (usually the box will have a hollogram sticker saying what sim the box is )and what bootloader (BL) it is (for example it can be bootloader BL72 or BL75 or BL76 ),so for example if your box is sim 2.01 and bootloader is BL75 any image you use will need to be sim 2.01 and BL75 .

DM500s - I am paying someone online for sharing their card. They say they do all hd and 3d channels. Wont the channel list of the box show all hd channels even though I dont have the hd box and hd tv.

Also for HD channels do I have to plug two cables on the lnb and the dm800 hd?

Please if anyone can help me understand the above two doubts, will be grateful.

    Thanks
    Jhammer

a dm500s wont show the hd channels or the one 3d channel in the channel list (and why would it as it cant open these channels) a dm800hd only has one input/one tuner as far as i know so that means one input/one cable. i hope that helps. you need atleast a dm500hd or a dm800hd (assuming you buy a dreambox) to go hd ,a dm800 will cost about £180 sterling (and is a clone ,and has no true hd connector) a dm500hd is an original and is nearer £300 sterling (but has a true hd connector). if you want hd on a budget (while using a c line) the skybox s9 is an option (for a little under £100 sterling) its nothing to do with sky but it is a budget box which must be noted and of course is reflected in the price. if your budget allows a vu+duo has two tuners/hd (record and watch at the same time) and just about all you need (of course it will need a seperate feed/cable for each tuner) an expensive reciever but its top end.

    Hello,
Thanks again for your great tutorial piopat. I have one question though, if i have more than 1 cline do i put them all on line 80, or 1 on line 80 then 1 on line 81 etc etc.
Also, i am using dm500s with pli jade image and cccam 2.1.4, how can i check ecm times and anything else that will allow me to monitor how well it is all working.

    thanks so much

pirahna i say in my tutorial to put your c line on line 80 (but i do this simply to make it easy for newbies)and most newbies only have one c line for the sky satellite . but of course payservers can and do give multiple c lines for other satellites (if you only have a fixed dish pointed at the sky satellite c lines for other satellites wont give you any extra channels) you can delete all the info from line 81 down to line 90 and then create extra c lines .

how do i create extra c lines ? ,ok go down to the end of line 90 and press backspace (and stop when line 81 is deleted ) now put the first c line in line 80 (as per my tutorial) now put the cursor at the end of the c line in line 80 (after the last letter or number) then left click ,now press enter. now the cursor is at the start of line 81 ,now press caps lock and type C: then press enter and press capslock ,and type C: now carry on about 8 times more untill you have about 10 c lines . now put in each addittional c line as you did the first c line .you would create extra f lines in the same way .or as fintann says delete the lot and then do as i said above but from line 1.

when you press info buttton twice you should see the signal meter/clock/channel name and number ,plus additional stuff like ecm time and hops.

naz if your not great with flashing a box i would say to leave it as it is ,as they say if its not broken dont fix it. if you flash with the wrong image (and bootloader) you have problems ,they can be fixed but but as i say if your not sure leave it.

Hi fintannl tried to setup the edimax 6200n for the b inlaw today but with no joy.installed cd provided and followed the steps at the end where it trys to connect to the internet it says failed to connect, tried an older version firmware (v 2.19)which supposedly works well with newer 3g dongles still no joy not sure if you are familiar with this but maybe someone reading this may any help much appreciated it is the most complicated thing i have ever tried to install you would think follow cd but no its a pain in the ass.

with any router you have setup issues. you of course must setup username and password on the router itself that is common to the 3G dongle for this to work
