    should not work
    cline should be
    c: 192.168.1.xxx 12000 user pass
where 192.168.1.xxx is the internal ip address of the server

    Why shouldnt it work?

I know its probably not the simplest way of doing 2 boxes inside a lan, but it should still work. My c box is still connected to the internet right?

as an internal box you use internal ip addresses. jicjoc i did try just the scenario you suggest and i never did get it to work. having said that the logic of what you say is correct. it should be able to connect out to the external internet and back in again. i think the reason it failed with me is how i set the cline up. however in practical terms it does make more sense that you directly connect to your server rather than going out to the internet to find an address that you already know.

eamo i do not support pay servers. i have said it over an over again. such folk are not the people to be sharing your credit card details with. this forum should not been seen as supporting any such threads on the basis it puts users at risk

    Boom - alls sorted now!
It was a combination of previous router settings, and dyndns problems.
As soon as the open port tool started to work, a factor reset of the router followed by setting up the dm500s NAT to 12000, then it all worked perfectly...

    Thanks Guys!

Take your point Fintanni, it's just I know several people who pay servers without any problem.

may be true eamo until they are busted and all the user details are plainly available to our police enforcement folks. hence the reason i will always advise users to stay away from such arrangements

Right,..the "no ca found" error is because or a bad flash or most likely in your case you flashed an image not suited to the bootloader on your dreambox,..if your box is new it should have bootloader 76 so only use images for that ( but check first.
Following the info below you will have to flash the correct bootloader first then flash an image suitable for that bootloader.

    -> ERR01 : NO CA FOUND

    Solution:
    1) Use DreamUp 1.3.3 with serial (null modem) cable
    2) Choose COM1, connect, power ON DM800 and wait
    3) After a few seconds the DM800 screen will come back with an IP address
    4) Type in that address in IE or firefox
    5) Flash a BootLoader (the version that your box came with) reboot DM800 and hold power button
    7) Wait for IP to appear on DM800 screen
8)Type in that address in IE
    9) Flash your desired image

its usually less stressful if you are starting off and are new to the setup of things if you know someone with a reliable server who can do the whole package...i.e box plus c/s plus cccam etc for you...
i use a reliable source(non uk server) that has been reliable for past 7 years, and he supplies the whole package at a reasonable price with no headaches for me....but if your savvy with doing your own thing..good on u.....but we're not all that savvy!

jhammer power off the box and power it back on ,then look at the little lcd screen on the front of the box ,it should display your boxes sim and bootloader version .as lenny said if its new its most likely sim 2.01 bootloader76 (BL76) ,but check and then we can point you to a suitable image.

When I switch on the box it brings the error straight away. It came with bootkoader 76 sim 2.01
Do I have to flash the bootloader first if that is the case where do get the bootloader from and how do I do it. Thanks

Just to clarify,..you need to remove the power from the rear & re-insert the power connector whilst holding in the standby button on the front until the display shows an IP address,..if you are doing this & still get the error than you need to flash the bootloader first before you flash the image,...you need to follow the 9 steps in my previous post,..here are the bootloader & image you will need....you will need a null modem serial cable but if your computer does not have a serial port you need to get a usb to serial adaptor to use with the cable.

Point taken,..but he can't flash it without sorting out his bootloader issue first by using dreamup...he initial problem was not being able to find the cccam.cfg file which led him to flash the box,...that would have been an easier task if he had asked here first.

    Hi Guys,
    Same old problem back again.

Dyndns recognises my ip port 12000 as open in its open port tool, but it is not recognising my dns text string i created port 12000 as open.

    Any idea's?
It works for a day or so and then breaks... :(

EDIT - I speak too soon. It was an issue here with my dyndns updater. It appeared to be working fine, but then showed a 'critical' fault. Which promptly fixed itself when i clicked the refresh. Strange, but i dont care if it works from now on...

Now, to another problem... How can i conviently run dyndns updater when i am not in the house, and dont want to leave a pc on 24/7? Im thinking about setting up a 'wake on lan' or something jobbie and then vnc in to the pc. Anyone any idea's?

    Thanks!
