A NEWBIES GUIDE TO SETTING UP A DM500S FOR CARDSHARING

thanks eamo.i read piopat tut but i though you only needed the boxkey to open the movie,s and sport.but i did put in the boxkey in line 317 but i still had no luck.its pretty basic but i must be doing something wrong.

 

You need boxkey to open any encrypted channel. Can't think what you have missed Reswob.
Take a look in Cccam/cfg & make sure new boxkey is saved & #symbol has been removed
Then try a reboot or look for silly things like is card in DM500s correctly

 

boxkey is saved ok.rechecked boxkey in converter and it is the same.box is running cccam 2.1.3 and is currently only showing FTA channells.this is an example of what is in the cccam/cfg and in line 317 with no symbol..{boxkey: /dev/sci0 08 CD F6 2F}..is this the correct way to have typed in the 08CDFE2F.

 

you do realise you have f6 in one boxkey and fe in the other ,have you set cccam 2.1.3 as your default cam (it wont work otherwise)if cccam 2.1.3 is set as the default cam the basic pay channels will open (without a boxkey)double check that cccam 2.1.3 is the cam your using and that it is set as default cam.

 

Looks OK to me, space between digits is built into the line. Pio or Fint won't be long about
telling you where you are wrong. I'm nearly sure Cccam 2.13 is OK to run s*ycard,but the card
is not working in DM500s because basic package he's paying for would clear those channels

 

Presume Reswob has 2.13 set as default as test-line worked OK

thanks eamo,hello piopat,the F6 and the FE are typing errors.am useing cccam 2.1.3 but were still not getting any of the documentary channells??as i have said he does not have movies or sport only documentarys,gold,sky1,etc.

 

as eamo says if the test line worked ok cccam is working and set as default cam ,and you say its cccam 2.1.3 so that is the corrrect cccam version .if he only has a basic package sly package all he should now need to do is put the card in to the box ,i assume his sly sub is sd and not hd as hd channels wont open on that box . has he got the full basic sly package or does he only pay for specific parts of the basic sly package. reswob if you like pm me the 17 digit serial number off the back of his sly box and ill check it in nds boxkey generator to ensure its correct (dont worry you can trust me) but that said he shouldnt need it if he only has a basic package.

 

piopat,the sub is sd.he has all channells bar the movies and sport.i will pm you the serial number of the box,and the eight digit number that the boxkey generator gave me............PM sent

 

tried everything i can think of but cant get it to work.even tried a different card but still the same.the only thing i have not tried is to reset the line 317 to its original state.but i cant recall what was there.will someone please check theres and let me know what it says

If you use diff card you need boxkey from box diff card is paired to. Pio says Cccam 2.13 will
clear encrypted channs other than movies/sport then you should not need boxkey. Just wonder is
any foreign object in card-slot blocking box from reading card

 

when i changed the card i put in new boxkey number just to see if it would make a difference but it dosent.as piopat says it should clear the regular channells just inserting the card.i first altered the line 317 and then inserted the card.if i was to alter that line back to its original state then insert the card would it make a difference.i think im clutching at straws here.

 

Don't know Reswob. Can't see how boxkey would prevent cam from clearing channs if boxkey is
not required to clear these channs. You will have to wait for expert to get back to you

 

thanks eamo,its just a bit frustrating when you come to a dead end and cant go any further.all seems fine with the box i checked back over the whole setup and all seems ok,very strange???...............have to go now,anybody any ideas feel free to leave them here and i will check back later,thanks

 

the card is working in the sly box ist it ? ,i mean it has been activated and is opening channels on the sly box .im just going to read your pm now mate ill be back in a tick.

try going into the addons menu in the box (from where you installed cccam 2.1.3 )uninstall it in the addons uninstall panel and install the latest version of cccam thats in the addons .i think there is a problem with the cccam you are using.

 

just read your PM piopat.not in the mates house now will be there tomorrow.i already retrived the serial number from the sky menu in system setup and put it in the boxkey converter the result was the same as the eight digits i pm you.realy cant see what im doing wrong here??

 

i deleated 2.1.3 today and then reinstaled it but that did not work.you think there could be a problem with 2.1.3
