A NEWBIES GUIDE TO SETTING UP A DM500S FOR CARDSHARING

i will uninstall 2.1.3 tomorrow and install the latest version.i have to go now but will let you know how i got on tomorrow.thanks Eamo & Piopat.

 

cccam 2.1.3 is fine, its what i use. you need nothing in cccam.cfg whatsoever to clear basic channels. the only possible reason is you have not set cccam as your default cam over the common interface cam which is the default cam. else the card reader is shagged but i have yet to come across a box with such a problem. can you confirm what box and image you are using

 

is there not another newer version in the addons such as cccam 2.1.4 or above . what imag are you using .

 

pio, there is, but i have reservations where newer versions of cccam are coming from. cccam 2.1.3 was the last official release from the original cccam team. the 2.1.4 version has origins unknown and the fact that 2.2.1 took so long to come on the scene lays question marks over exactly who delivered it and exactly what it contains. there are many rumours that the newer version could contain means to track users which has meant that I personally will use 2.1.3 as server and earlier versions for clients until I know better

i agree with you there fint mate i feel the same ,i only suggest it as a way of checking if the cccam he has is working as it should be ,if he were to install say 2.1.4 and his problem was solved he would then have his answer. i suppose he could uninstall cccam 2.1.3 on the box then download cccam 2.1.3 and do a manual install or even try a reflash but i think he may have tried that already.

 

all cccams downloaded through the download option in the different images have been tested as working. i would be more inclined to say that the image is more likely the problem than the cam. as i have said many times i vouch for the dm500 pli image which i have used and it has never failed me.

jhammer the version of cccam in client can be many and all will work. the only issue is with server where you must have at least 2.1.3 or above to read new sly card. hd dual tuner is vu+ duo without question. but very expensive

 

i had the same problem it turned out to be the card reader on the the box try checking the cccam info then entitlements for darkstar 2 image press yellow button then select niablo cccam info then selcet entitlements it should give you a list from the card inserted if there is a prob with it, it will say no or unknown card inserted also you can check the providers from the same cccam info menu and the will tell you if you have a card online or not not sure on other images hope this helps

 

I'd say you are right Dan. The fact that box worked with c-line indicates 2.13 is working.
How did you solve prob with card-reader

 

hi folks.back at the mates now.DM 500S.image is darkstar.cccam is 2.1.3.it is set as default,he had a test line that worked fine.have tried to do what dan said but when i click on entitlements another window opens for a split second and says..{wait please while cccam reply}..more bad news,after piopats advice last night about trying the latest version of cccam i had explained to my mate this is what i would try today.he could not wait so after several cans of bulmers he had a go himself,he thinks he went into nabilo cam and installed cccam 2.2.0 and other shit that he cant remember,when i arrived this morning it was at factory reset stage he had tried to remove what he put into it. i think i will have to reflash and start from scratch.cheers

 

yeah,...a sanity check is required,...start from scratch again after the reset.

 

it wont allow me to flash the box?useing dreamup v1.3.2.1....when i press connect it does nothing.

 

your pressing connect first then plug in the power to the rear of the box,...right

Hi guys, a quick question to anyone who has experienced it. I have been cardharing for almost a year now and in that year I have had to return my sly card to the orginal sly box about 4 times to get updated (I am on the basic package). I had to do it last night again. I am running ccam2.1.3 in my dm800hd and I always switch to a channel I pay for every night before bed so why doesnt the card update all the time??
I keep having to ring sly to re-send the activation signal....if I keep doing this they are gonna cop on to me. Does anyone have this problem???

 

1.3.2.1 should be OK on DM500s, you could try 1.3.3.4 but I think cable is your problem.
Are you using USB-RS232 cable. You need to use null modem ONLY from RS232 port on old PC.
If using wrong version of Dream-Up it usually shows "aborted by user"

 

eamo,just flashed the box now.in dreamup when i pressed connecte nothing happened,not even a window opened to tell me there was a problem with the ports which normaly happens.so after trying everything i changed the port setting from 1 to 2 this did the trick.have to go out for half an hour will continue then.cheers

 

When you're down Linux will kick you in the teeth. Unusual dream-up didn't flag port error.
Hope you took box with you,your mate could do alot of damage in half an hour. If card reader
is your problem you may have to open box & see is there plastic wrapping or other object
stopping card from being read

 

Hi.
I have the cardsharing setup and have details on a line from a cardsharing site which is all working ok.
Question. I have a quad lnb, can i buy another dm500S and use the same cardsharing details to view channels on a different tv or do i need to get another set of cardsharing details.
