sorry, i must be long in the tooth, but a dm500 costs close to eur63. so how does a cost of eur300 sound better?

 

no fint your not hearing me,maybe i did not make myself clear.people are throwing there money away on these rip of merchants,why they bother paying scandlous prices for something they dont understand is beyond me.

 

understand reswob. sadly there is the fecker who just wants to buy a no-hassle box without understanding the dangers such a box can in fact cause. but hey, we are here to offer advice, not to form opinions of the intelligence of the user. if they want to pay stupid prices to a pay server that will be broken by the police then it is their very own choice that they are welcome to make. The bright side is that while many of us play at this for a bit of a game we have all these dudes who will arrive in court well before we ever have to worry about such an issue. So I guess its a good thing but it is a bit disappointing that they do lack some degree of willingness to at least make an effort.

 

i'm using dm500-v8-maxvar image and am having problems with bouquets i've d/l latest sgtflipflop but a lot of channels dont come through(after rescan), iwas told to clear listings before rescan, but i'm not given that option. i've tried to change image but i get an error and it is aborted. i did a factory reset, but still maxvar image was there. also, when i reboot and cccam 2.1.3 is starting i get a (sticky) at the end(serverbox) i do'nt get this on my client box, but have the same problems with listings.so,other than factory reset, can i wipe the box clean and start again? is there a better bouquet to use?should i hid the boxes behind the sofa,go to to bed and forget i ever had them?

 

Fac reset won't remove image. Best way to change image is dream-up & null modem ONLY from
rs232 port on PC. If you get ABORTED BY USER error you are using wrong version of dream-up
Try dream-up 1.3.2.1 for DM500 & use Pli-jade or Darkstar 11 image. Say NO to flash erase

eamo, that's the version of dreamup that i hsve. as for null modem, i use a serial adaptor as i've no com port, i do say no to flash erease. i'll go at it again this evening and let you know.

 

still can't flash either of my dm500, i d/l dreamup 1.3.2.1 fom a different site and same result. connect...switch on box....box speaking....flash loader....waitin for 2nd acknowledgement...(10-15secs)...flash....open image....no flash erase....ERROR upload aborted.

 

have you tried using flash wizzard via ftp

 

should i be looking for any particular version?

You would be best to ignore use network option on dream-up. There are lots of quicker ways to
flash image to box, but none are as dependable as null-modem & dream-up

 

naz, now i have to whinge a bit. i type in 'generate satellite.xml' into google and the web address you need is top of the list. http://satellites-xml.eu/

jondalar the only reason dreamup will fail after you have a connection is because you are not flashing a .img file. i suspect you didn't extract the file from either a winzip or winrar archive

 

no, image had been unzipped. i had the use network button on, i suspect dreamup was trying to flash through LAN
