reswob, just weird. why not swop boxes. check the satfinder function on the box and get the measured signal strength for both boxes at your friends house. are they different. distortion is typically associated with tuner overheating after extended usage or the lnb is not properly centred on the sat dish

piopat i have changed the c line to: 192.168.1.100 username paswword

and for server box i have disabled the dhcp and have its ip as 192.168.1.100 with gateway & nameserver both as 192.168.1.1 (routers ip). The problem i think is that if i enable dhcp on client box i,m getting an ip address of 192.168.0.0, namesever of 192.168.1.1 & gateway of 192.168.0.0.

I,m not sure whay i,m getting that ip & gateway for client box when ip is set in router config to start at 192.168.100. Hence why i cant even ping that ip from my pc.

ok try setting the client box a static ip ,disable dhcp on the client box and change the ip (make sure nameserver etc has the same ip as the router )and see if it makes a difference .

buggu, if you are getting an ip address on client box of 192.168.0.0 when your router address is 192.168.1.1 then the problem is that your network cable to your client box is faulty.

reswob, i'm at a loss. gave a dm500 that worked perfect in my house to a friend and he has consistently complained. i can honestly say i haven't a clue. can you check using cccaminfo if the box is responding to internet traffic ok. if he sits on a subscribed channel the amount of ecms requested and then delivered should be exactly the same. download cccaminfo for enigma1, put in /tmp and then do a manual install to check ecm figures

dan it shouldnt be a problem for them to reshare internally (with your help) all you have to do is ensure your c line allows reshares (or atleast 3 in their case ) then all the have to do is connect the two new boxes to the internet . they then put the c line of their server box into the the other two boxes ,(example )
    C: (server box ip )12000 box2 bedroom1 (this goes in to box 2 )
    C: (server box ip) 12000 box3 bedroom2 (this goes in to box 3 )

in the server box you put
    F:box2 bedroom1
    F:box3 bedroom2

if the other two boxes in your home are in bedrooms they probably wont be used any where near as much as the main box so they shouldnt put any stress on your card or server .i recommend that when the other two boxes are not in use power them off or leave them on a free to air channel and that will keep the ecms down .you should ask any clients you have to do the same .

its all a matter of control. if you trust an individual to reshare your services in a responsible fashion and let you know how many shares they are offering off your primary card then all is ok. If you cant be sure then its a simple matter of adding an extra fline in your server and then you know who is using your cards and to what extent

    Hi guys

Quick question re: setting up cccam on a virtual server. Has anyone attempted this? I'm having difficulty copying my cccam.cfg onto the box.
