piopat, fintanni and all who have contributed to the thread with help and advice, total respect and admiration especially to piopat and fintanni. What an asset to any forum those 2 guys would be.

I have just finished reading all 40 pages and what can i say....fantastic! everything needed is there, the tutorial is the dogs bollox. I have been on a few forums looking for the info needed but now i have found this place i need to look no further. I've just started out on the Sat side of things so i am trying to get my head around everything at the moment.

Me and a mate have bought a DM500s each, and by following priopat's excellent tutorial i have flashed both boxes with the nabilosat darkstar 2 image and have CCcam 2.2.1 on both.

I have set it to astra/hotbird 28.2 east and done a transponder scan.

All the channels have came in no probs (will look at flipflops bouquet file soon).
I have managed to get the correct boxkey and can view the package i am signed up to :)

Had a few teething problems to get this far but managed to sort them no probs by reading through all the posts.

My next step is internal/external sharing and f lines/c lines. I'm afraid this is where i may have to start asking a few questions....although i will try my best to suss it myself first before asking.

    It's getting exciting now Lol.

I'm just going to make myself a bacon sarnie and a cuppa and i will be back :)

    Cheers all.

Cccam 2.1.3 complete is fine for the dm 500 (2.2.1?)
Well done and good luck we will try and help if needed although it seems you're doing a good job at the moment

there are a few newer versions of cccam jack but 2.1.3 will work just fine at the minute .

damo internal sharing shouldnt cause to many problems ,once both boxes are connected to your router (with cccam installed ) disable dhcp in the box that will contain the card (the server)dhcp is in communication setup (also make a note of the box ip address ).

lets say you have box 2 (the client box in the bedroom ) using dream control center open cccam.cfg in the client box and type in your c line . your internal c line consists of the server box ip address /port number/ username / password (example)
C:192.168.1.4 12000 box2 bedroom so you see the ip of the server box followed by the port number (the default cs port is 12000 )username and password can be anything you want as long as they are the same in the f line .

using dream control center open cccam.cfg in the server box ,now you only need a simple f line for internal sharing so (example ) F:box2 bedroom ,that should be all you need to share internally . for external sharing you need to do a bit more ,i suggest you share internally first to get the hang of things .

it did work before but may have messed something up when i saved satallite.xml in one time,, thats all i can think of
also I cannot get tv3 (irl) open,, the only one available is will not open

do a factory reset (and you should be able to scan astra/eurobird 28 east ) this will reset the box settings to how they were after you flashed it so you will need to choose tv type (pal) choose language (english) diseqc type is (one single satellite ,unless you have a motorized dish )then choose the satellite and do an automatic transponder scan for channels .

if your still missing channels you can add the missing frequencies with your remote control, here are instructions .

click on this link it has all the latest frequencies .
    http://www.flysat.com/28east.php

now there is quite a lot of info provided in the link but all you need really is the frequency followed by the polarity (this is horizontal H or vertical V) followed by FEC (for sky channels this usually either 2/3 or 5/6 but they have a few odd FECS like 3/4 etc )the last piece is the symbol rate and for sky channels this is usually either 22.000 or 27.500 but again there can be a few odd symbol rates .

you will notice the first frequency in the list is for channel 4 /film 4 etc 10.714 H, so 10.714 is the frequency (polarity is H this is short for horizontal )next you see is sr-fec (sr is short for symbol rate in this case its 22.000 )and fec is 5/6 ,so thats really all the info you need .also you dont have to enter all the frequencies you see on the pc screen only the frequencies you are missing .

right now press menu on your remote control (from memory i think this process is the same on my box as it is on yours)press number 6 (setup)choose service searching ,now choose transponder edit (this is number 4 on my box),now you should see a list of satellites and astra/eurobird 28.2 east should be highlighted in red and the word sat is also highlighted in red .and to the right of the satellite list you should see all the frequencies currently in your box .

press the right button on your remote control to highlight add ,now look at the first frequency on the pc screen and check that its on your tv screen as well (the frequency should have a red box around it ,if the first frequency you see on the pc screen is also on the tv screen press the down button on your remote and the red box will go around the next frequency ,check each frequency this way .

when you come across a frequency that appears on the pc screen but is not on the tv screen press the ok button on the remote ,you should see transponder edit type in the frequency in the box provided using the number buttons then press the down button and use the right or left button to set polarity ,when thats done press the down button and set fec using the right or left button, now press the down button and type in the symbol rate with the number buttons . when this is complete press the green button to save .

carry on checking the frequencies untill you have added all missing frequencies (it will take a few minutes ,when your done exit back to service searching and do an automatic transponder scan and when the scan is complete you should now have all missing channels .

pio - i posted something yesterday regarding adult channels not showing on my dm800. They work fine on the sly box but once the freeviews finish, nothing on the dm.

I've put the pin number in the config file - is there anything else that I'm missing?

    Would appreciate your help.

i dont have those channels my self so i cant say anything for certain ,have you set up parental controls on the dreambox ? (are you being prompted to enter your pin number ?) if you put your pin into cccam.cfg try taking it out . the movie channels have a pin restriction in the day time (on a sky box) but the pin does not apply on a dreambox im pretty sure the adult channels have a pin number on the sky box at night but i would have thought like the movies they wouldnt need a pin number to open them on a dreambox .

Hi fin. Hope you're ok. I don't suppose you'd have any idea about the playboy/adult situation. Background - subscribed service, I get channels on sly box but nothing on dm800. All other sub channels work fine. I get the adult freeviews but not sub service - just blank screen.

I've gone through the stuff that pio stated and still no joy. I've tried it with and without PIN in cccam file and disabled parental control.

    I'd really appreciate your help.

balcee, have you sports or films on your subscription. if you have, and can see them, then i', lost as you need the proper boxkey to watch these channels. if you dont have them then its very obvious you have a faulty cccam.cfg as your boxkey is incorrect. reality is that if you subscribe to a channel and it is not available means your boxkey is wrong. ppv channels work on all linux machines

It's really baffling me :-/ yes all other channels work fine on the dm800, HD as well. I ordered the fight on primerime last week and that came up fine. The only ones not working are adult and sky box office. Boxkey is right as sports, movies are working.

Out of ideas at the mo :-(

Well just as i thought things was going smoothly Lol.

I have read into all this fascinating stuff that much the last few days and took that much information in i think it's a case now of information overload. I can't think straight at the moment.

I'm sorry to have to ask a couple of questions if that's ok. I just need a little poke in the right direction. I apologise in advance because the same questions have prob been asked many times and i can understand piopat and fintinnan getting pissed off.

    Ok here goes!

After piopat's reply to my last post me and a mate managed to get the internal cardshare server and client up and running relatively easily. Both boxes cleared all the channels in the subscribed package. Excellent!

Onto the external cardshare and things not so smooth....sigh!
Here is a copy of the CCcam.cfg f/c lines.

Also a dyndns hostname has been set up.

Box with the card in = F: example example1

Box without card in = C: somename.dyndns.org 12000 example example1 (with dyndns updater running.)

Boxkey command is in CCcam.cfg of the Box with the card.

All i can think of is: port 12000 isn't open?
Commands missing from both Server and Client configs?

Any help will be gratefully received.

    Thanks.
