So you think people should re-type out information that has been posted over and over on this forum, just because you are too lazy to go and look for it ??

    Eureka!
    Solved the problem :)

When i was at my mates yesterday sorting the external share stuff out i was doing it all through my own Laptop.

On the phone for ages today trying different things to no avail....i had set it all up through my Laptop and not his. As soon as we forwarded 12000 on his PC everything fell into place.

    Great Stuff....I love it :)

Wouldn't of had a clue about any of this without piopat's tutorial and help as well as fintannl and all the others who posted with help and advice.

    Cheers all.

My next step is finding out what certain things are and what they do. I.e Hops....Reshares....emm's.... etc.

    Laters all.

damo click on this link its port tool from dyndns
    http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html

where it says host and port type in your dyndns host name and then the port number you opened and click on send . that will tell you if your port is open ,if it says the port is not open you will have to re check your router settings .also make sure to set the routers firewall level to low ,its easy to miss some thing and even if its a very small thing it can cause you problems and really the only sollution is to check and re check. dont be afraid to ask any questions mate we are here to try and help .

When you go to the link for Port forwading my router is not listed, is this a free program or do you have to pay to port forward

your correct your router model is not listed on portforward.com ,have a try of the two versions nearest yours
    TL-WR642Gv2
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/TP-Link/TL-WR642Gv2/default.htm
    TL-WR841N
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/TP-Link/TL-WR841N/default.htm

when you try if the menus your seeing are the same as on your router you should be ok ,but if they are different you will have to keep trying to find instructions for your router ,also some one on here may have the same model and may be able to help you .

i havent got the same router so i can really advise you that much ,i would imagine service port is the port number you want to open for example port 12000 is the default port for cs (but you can choose other ports )the ip address is the ip address of the dreambox (you need to make the dreambox ip static ,you do that by disabling dhcp )protocol is probably tcp or udp (i would imagine you need tcp),i dont know what status is for and common service port i would imagine is the same port you opened but i cant be sure.

well done mate ,dont forget to set the dreambox a static ip address that means an ip addressthat wont change ,your router can change the ip and if it does people wont be able to connect with you (all you have to do is disable dhcp)and ensure the static ip is the same as the ip you entered into your router earlier.

Set the Dreambox to static 192.168.1.### but when I go to DynDNS to create account it will me enter this IP address to create the account but the updater automatically enters my current locations IP address.

    How do I fix?
