happy new year to all! i have a dm500s and my son has managed to do something on the remote and now when i press 1 it goes to sky 1 where as before it used to go to bbc 1
please help

 

Use remote control to edit bouquets or you can edit bouquets using DreanBox-Edit program.
Under parental control enable SET-UP lock to prevent further child tampering.
Give child some good old fashioned PG

 

mojo there isnt really anything your son can change with the remote unless he has changed some thing in the menu (which is very unlikely ),i think eamo is correct that your bouquets have changed in some way .if your looking for an up todate bouquet let me know via pm and ill help you out .

is there a way i can organise favourites and have 1 bouquet rather than go to different bouquets for channels ??

 

Suit yourself Mo, editing bouquets with remote control is far easier than using many of
the Dreambox editing programs available. Having one bouquet sounds great, but why not just
select ALL SERVICES and you have one bouquet in alphabetic order

is it possible to use a sly card from a friends house in my dm 500s at my house the share it back to them

if you mean can you use your friends card in your dm500s to share with your your friend using his sky box the answer is no ,your friend would also need a dm500s as sky boxes cant be used for sharing .

 

oh yes i new that just wasnt shore if i cud put the card in my box that was all ,i have an eagle box he can use

I need help. I bought a DM500s back in August, the screen says NABILOSAT at start. i got 3 months service from a cccam installed on it. They must have forgotten about me as it was working uop to yesterday. It froze so i powered down box and switched back on but now wont boot up, its stuck on NABILOSAT screen.can i do anything with this, read i might have to reflashb it or something but will i then loose my access to server

 

id say you will have to reflash the box ,you can download a good nabilo dm500s image called nabilo maxvar v8 from the first link of my signature area .you will also need dreamup and you can get that from the same link .if your unsure about how to flash your box click on the last link in my signature area to access my tutorial .i recommend before you flash that you erase your current image ,so when you open dreamup on the right of screen you will see flash and just above flash you will see flash erase (click on it ) it only takes a few seconds then flash the box as ive described in my tutorial .

i assume you bought the box complete with a subscription for pay channels ,so you will have to contact the person who you bought the box from and tell them the image has gone faulty and that you plan to reflash ,and ask them to send you the share information . the share information is either a c line or a cccam.cfg file with c line inside it which you will have to put into your box when its reflashed.

 

so is it ok to put the card in my box and then share it back to him

Thanks for that. the chap i got it from is away at the moment, says he will sort it when he gets back. he will spot that i had an extended run i think. oh well.

 

hi andy yes it is .you will have to connect your box to your router and install cccam 2.1.3 or above and set it as your default cam then the basic pay channels will open .if your friend is also paying for sky movies or sky sports as part of his subscription you will need his sky box boxkey to open those channels.

your friend will also have to connect his box to his router and have cccam installed .then you have to open a port on your router and you have to open a dyndns.com account .i explain all this stuff in my tutorial which you can access by clicking on the last link in my signature area which is near the bottom of my posts .

 

thx for the reply piopat ,i am already sharing a cheap porn card at the moment,so i will just need to set it up his end and get the boxkey and is using sly broadband a no no for cardsharing reason i ask is my friend has sly broadband

 

hi andy i just spent a bit of time updating my tutorial and adding pictures to make it a little easier for people to understand cs .

i would have to say i would normally advise against using sly broadband for cs but its up to the individual.that you are currently sharing a card is good and means you have experience ,so tou shouldnt have any problems .

 

hi piopat at the moment i am using port 12000 but have been told to use a different port if i am going to be using a sly card , can u shed any light on this

another thing is does the sly box have to be connected to internet if so wont they no that the card is not in the box

 

hi andy you dont have to use port 12000 ,it is the default cs port but you can use any port you like .

normally if you avail of a sly offer such as a free installation (a new free dish and box installed)with a 12 month contract you would probably have to by contract have a phone line connected to your box for 12 months .so as such if thats the case sly would know if your card is not in the sly box .but if you bought your sly box new at full price/if you bought your box second hand or have owned your sly box for more than 12 months or even for a few years then your exempt from the sly contract .

so if you availed of a special offer from sly recently or late last year yes your contract probably specifies that your box must be connected to a phone line for 12 months ,but once the 12 months contract is up you can disconnect the phone line . but if youve been paying for 12 months plus and still have your box connected to your phone line you can legaly disconnect the phone line as the contract lasts no more than 12 months .
