Hello Piopat,
I reflashed the dm500s using dreamup lan however the original boot up screen (pli) remained on the box so I took it that the nabilo image did not flash properly.
Therefore I used the program in your links, flashwizzard 6.3 & everything seemed to work fine. However when I reboot the box I see the Nabillo image loading page & but then the box reboots itself and the same thing happens again i.e. Nabillo image screen reboot....Nabillo image scree, reboot etc
I seem to be stuck in this cycle & cannot access the box via dcc, flashwizzard etc etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated please?

 

hi mate download dreamup 1.3.2.1 from the first link in my signature area ,this dreamup is designed for a dm500s,also download nabilo maxvar v8 from the same link .now as you have allready flashed the box and it has a problem you need to erase the current flash (as you have flashed two times you need to go through the following procedure twice ),open dreamup it should look like this

now look on the right where you see flash and just above that you should see flash erase (click on it )the erasing process only takes a few seconds ,now click on flash erase again(if your box had an image on it before you attempted to flash it flash erase 3 times) .your probably wondering why this is needed ,well the dm500s has a very small memory capacity so while it can hold a few flashes after you have flashed about 2 times the memory starts to gets full and the box cant run properly and so the only way to sort this is to clear as much memory space as we can .


once you have erased the flash or flashes then flash the box as normal and hopefully the problem will be solved ,heres a link to my tutorial

Unfortunately my PC (Dell 530s) does not have a 9 point serial port, it has a 16 point serial port...that's why I had to use dreamup lan.
I am going to have to buy a serial 9 to 16 adapter on fleabay or something as dreamup lan or flashwizard can no longer locate the dm500s since I encountered this problem last night

 

Hi got a dm800 it had nemesis 2.4 and couldnt install cccam on it then flash it with sim201-SSL82-20110423 and now the box is not booting got a message on lcd sim201 team #82 dhcp...

after a minute it reboots on its own and comes to same message, tried to connect it to dreamup and it is not identifying the box, any suggestions?

 

guys i can only say

hi mate your box runs on a certain sim (a clone is usually 2.01 ) and your box has a certain bootloader for example BL76 or above .so flashing a dm800 is not the same as flashing a dm500. a dm500 can be flashed with any dm500 image but a dm800 must have an image that is compatable with the box. power off your box (there is a switch on the rear) now power it back on and look at the little screen on the front of the box ,it will display various info including sim version and bootloader version .once you have both find an image that has the same sim and bootloader versions and flash as normal .if your not sure get your box sim and bootloader version and post it here and im sure someone can point you towards a suitable image .

 

hi mate do you know anyone with an old desktop computer ?(you will only need it for about 15 minutes ),or you may be able to use the rootcramfs method .

can someone please explain to me why my 500s is loosing quiet a few channels i downloaded the latest sat file and bouquets from piopats sig and with in mins of doing it this appears were there was once channels[[service removed]]i have done countless rescans and still it happens.these channels drop out of my favourites and are still in all channel list but others disappear all together
should of added my image is pli

 

hi i stand to be corrected but i think sly keep changing these freqs you can manually add the ones youre missing and add them to youre bouquets.

 

thanks jack,yea i have done this already but there dropping again,the chances are these are all on the same frequinces but the problem is im not sure what channels are missing so i will have to identify one and get the frequincey.i hope what i just said makes sense

 

just noticed current tv is missing from the box.i will try find the frequince for this channel[[[just found out current tv is no longer transmitted]]]

 

hi mate the satellite.xml file in my signature area is pretty up to date ,i use it my self on a dm7020s and a dm500s as well as a mates dm500s (with no problem ) and no missing channels apart from the few that only open with oscam . so i have to say either your image or your box has a problem ,hopefully its an image problem . i suggest if your using a c line make a note of it or save your cccam.cfg file.

then try a new image (there is a nabilo dm500 maxvar v8 image in the link in my signature area )or download the same pli image from a different source ,open dreamup to flash your box and on the right of screen you will see flash (look above flash )and you will see flash erase (click on it)) this will erase your currentfaulty image (it only takes seconds ),then flash as normal. as i say hopefully its an image problem and then all you have to do is setup your box and put in your c line and i hope all is well .

 

piopat.i have been thinking about this problem the weekend.its not just my box that is doing it several family members boxes are the same.i flashed only one box and and made a backup of it then i uploaded it to the rest of the boxes,could this be the problem

 

hi mate i just had a read back along your posts it seems your saying that channels that you had in your favourites dont now work but they do work when you go to them in the all channels list ,is that what your saying ? .

favourites is the same as a bouquet ,if a channel moves frequency and you have the new frequency in your satellite.xml file then an automatic transponder scan will (or should )return the channel to your all channels list .however favourites /bouquets have to be updated ,so if a channel has changed frequency and you get it back in the all channels list after doing a scan it will not open in your favourites it will say service removed .you can delete all the service removed channels in your favourites and add the channels again and they will (or atleast should )work ,alternatively you could add an up todate set of bouquets such as sgt flip flops bouquets (i can pm you a link where you can download the bouquets if you like) to your box using dreambox edit (you can download dreambox edit from link 1 of my signature area ),and i can help you with a tut for adding bouquets with dreambox edit if you need it .

 

sorry for late reply piopat been busy lately.current tv i could not find anywhere this lead me to believe i had lost some channels compleatley.i did not reliase it had been taken of air.after i updated the sat file i still thought i was missing some channels as current tv did not reappear.i have put back what i think i lost from all channel list into my favourites useing enable edit mode with my remote and all seems ok now.will keep an eye on it for now and see what happens.sorry for the confusion piopat but the current tv thing lead me down the wrong path.thanks
