pio, i checked that link, the SID's i want are setanta and ruk, the sids listed for these channels are five digit numerical, this doesn't match with any sid i see on cccam or those in fint's post above i.e four digit alphanumerical,am i looking in the wrong place?
fint thanks for the list, but which are the ones i want? my server is running cccam as i don't know oscam, but i want to, can you direct me to a site that will explain line by line, i,ve looked at a few, but find there too many asumptions made as to how much i already know. oscam for dummies is not a runner, i need oscam for babies!!!

 

all sids are four digits. setanta/1 are c7a7 and c7a8, racing uk is already listed above as c5a8.
if you can do cccam you can do oscam. i have posted tutorials in the past. i have oscam for dm500 (enigma1) or dm800, dm8000, vuduo, debian, ubuntu. Supply your server box type and i will supply the configs.

cccam is a disaster to configure. oscam is far better

 

thanks fint, i seen ruk in your previous post it was setanta i was after, i'm currently running cccam 2.2.1 on a vuduo, however, i have a spare pc which eventually i would like to run on ubuntu, also i have a couple of boxes which are loaded with oscam 1.2 #7119. i have managed to get these to work as clients to cccam but there are a lot of glitches, any tuts you have, i'm sure, would be a great help, if you can give me a link to any relevant tuts i would be very greatful.

 

hey fintannl is there any way of getting setanta 1 back up on my server running CCcams 2.2.1 on dm500s.Ive been looking into going over to oscam but i cannot seem to get my head around it at all.

My dm500s won't connect to my vista laptop via usb- null modem. Any solutions

 

you may need to try a different brand usb converter,Ive read this on another thread there not 100% reliable

 

the convertor probably works fine the problem is the usb needs drivers (this simply put is a bit of software to tell the computer that its got a device connected to it , in this case the usb adaptor )if you look around you may get a driver that works with vista but I tried and failed and I opted instead to buy an older second hand desktop computer for flashing older boxes like dm500 .or you could use the root.cramfs method for flashing your box .

 

The box can't be seen on the network either

 

has the box got an ip address ? press menu /then press number 6 (setup) /then select expert setup / then select communication setup and see if the box has an ip address and make sure dhcp and enable network are enabled .

 

pat tried reflashing, successful but green light stays on and nothing comes up on the tv

 

why did you reflash ? did you check communication setup ? .did you flash erase before you flashed ? the dm500 has a very small memory so always wise to do that. a solid green light with box not working is nothing to do with network settings either its a bad flash (corrupted image )or you have filled the box memory .

i cant connect to the box through dcc or flash wizard! on flash wizard it says root hidden

 

flash erase again and try a different image mate . the reason I asked why you you reflashed was because I thought your only problem was that your box didn't appear on the network .

 

still nothing thats the 3rd time i flashed it with different images

 

it may just be a box problem mate , its very rare with dm500s but it does happen occasionaly . did you try dreamup ? ,root I imagine is root password but you don't need that to flash for ftping yes but not flash ,if its new maybe its best to send it back mate .

 

any ideas pat? do ya think there could be a fault with the box even tho its alive
