    no mate , a satellite .xml file updates your box . that means it up dates your box so that it has all the available or new frequencies , that means if you are up to date and do a scan for channels your box will then have all available channels and frequencies .

    bouquets are different ,they are made by using a program to add various channels to various bouquets , when bouquets are out of date that's it they need to be updated . but if your satellite.xml file is up to date you don't need bouquets you can simply view channels from the all channel list as opposed to the bouquets .you can make your own bouquets with your remote or its easier if you learn dreambox edit .

    Cheers. But if i just do a scan does that not put new or moved channels into all channels list anyway without putting in the channel fileu

    yes a scan will put all channels found in the all channels list , but it wont put channels into bouquets for you .

    hi all,
    i have a server running CCcam 2.1.4 with some friends as clients and all is fine, however, a new client has joined, he has an alien shd 8900 which does not support cccam, it seems. he's running oscam8582, i've configured his box to run off my server, it is connecting and ecm times are consistenly below 200ms but the picture keeps breaking up, it's unwatchable. according to my server's info page the client has not missed any ecm's (over 500 atm), can anyone tell me what's wrong? below is my oscam.server file, have i left something out?
    btw, i'm testing this on my own network so it's not internet or satellite signal that is the problem.
    thanks in advance

    ive set up oscam on an alien for a mate and ive had a few problems , the picture kept freezing at the start but I found that restarting oscam cured that . however I had to do a reflash as the image wasn't great , after that I had to try 4 different vesions of oscam before it worked .

    [reader]
    label = cline1
    enable = 1
    protocol = cccam
    device =
    account =
    group = 1
    cccversion = 2.1.3
    cccbuild = 3169
    cccmaxhop = 5
    blockemm-unknown = 1
    blockemm-g = 1

    above is the oscam reader I use in the alien , as I say the problems I had were oscam itself , so first try restarting oscam and see if that cures the freezing but if not install another version of oscam , I used a slightly older version myself and it worked fine .

    thanks pio,
    unfortunatly no luck, can you remember what version of oscam you were using? i tried your setup, but it won't connect at all, i changed ccversion to match mine and then turned off buildversion, as i've no idea what mine is, but no joy, i'm going to try changing account to user pass and see if that makes a differance, i'll let you know!!

    try shortening it

    [reader]
    label = cline1
    enable = 1
    protocol = cccam
    device =
    account =
    group = 1

    notice aswell that above group is set to group 1 make sure this is set to the group you have assigned to your card reader . but failing all uninstall oscam and go into the alien addons and install a slightly older version .

    well fu#k me,

    [reader]
    label = cline1
    enable = 1
    protocol = cccam
    device = host,port
    user = user
    password = pw
    group = 1
    #cccversion = 2.1.4
    #cccbuild = 3169
    cccmaxhop = 5
    blockemm-unknown = 1
    blockemm-g = 1
    so here's my .server now and differance is unbelivable, ok only 20 mins in, but not a single glitch.
    hopefully it stays this way, thanks again pio

    Quick question about Dreambox_Control_Center.

    Is it possible to connect to working DM500s to a laptop directly using a LAN cable? I changed the connection type to 'Direct Crossover' but couldn't get it to connect.

    Reason I ask is a friend has changed his broadband provider, his DM500 still works fine but for some reason I can no longer get DCC to comunicate to his router. When I need to change something in his setup I have to take the box to my place and use my router.

    as far as I know you need a crossover cable for that . they look similar to an Ethernet cable but they are not the same. your cable may be Ethernet and not crossover .

    hi all, new to CS and intend to setup private server using owned card with paid subscription (package with limited channels), but before embarking on this I have this question:
    will the server and client boxes get other channels outside my paid subscription package in server and client boxes after sharing or just the channels i have subscripted? if no, is there any way to get around it?

    Hope this question is not inappropriate and appreciate any advice. thanks!

    your clients will only receive the channels you PAY for , if your subscription card only has a basic pay channel package your clients will only receive them . the only way your clients would receive additional pay channels is if you upgraded your subscription and added other packages movies/sports etc .

    the only other way you could receive and pass on additional channels is if you had a c or n line from another source (someone that you were sharing with , that is they share their card with you and vice versa )that allowed you to pass on these channels to your clients .from what you say I doubt you have that , so in that case no , your clients will only receive the channels you pay for .

    you ask if there is any way around this , I take it you mean is there another way to receive free pay channels that you can pass on to your clients ,if your asking about a hack there is no hack for sky . the only way you can receive and share additional channels is via a c or n line , you could look online and get free c and n lines but you get no guarantee they will work or how long .
