What's the name of your burner?
Is the firmware up to date?
What's the name and the mid of the discs you're using?
What speed are you burning at?
What's the name of the portable player you're using?
    Shall I ask for more?

You're still not answering the questions. If you truly want help, you need to provide this information.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I have the exact same problem. I have been using Windows XP and dvdfab/dvdshrink/nero combo, all latest versions for years to backup dvds with no problems. I decided to upgrade to Vista after a harddrive failure, and now the backups won't play on any settop players but it plays fine on any PC! What is odd is that my hacked XBOX, when using the MS console cannot recognize the disks, but when I use the XBMC console it plays them fine. So basically it seems like something "different" is happening to the burned DVD structure with Vista? I tried comparing old backups with those new backups done with vista and I can see no difference. Again, NOTHING has changed for me, other than loading vista. I use a Plextor 716SA drive and TY02 disks and I burn at 4x, which gives me the lowest Pi/Po errors according to plextools. I check every single burn and toss the disk if PI exceeds 20. The only thing I have noticed is that if I rip and burn with dvdfab alone, the backups play fine, but I HATE dvdfab! Vista seems to have broken my dvdshrink! :( Please, I am going nuts here, anyone have any ideas?
