@Loco ... your metaphor is a bit off as I've neither raised nor responded to that point before but all the same, I get your point...still, he knows exactly what I'm talking about despite the poor semantics to refute that which anyone can read. There's no sense talking to the infallible.

Loco, I hope that becoming a moderator will not change the person you were... that would be a loss to us all, especially yourself. Don't become one of those people who can do no wrong and upon whom all words are wasted unless they're flattering.

You're on surprisingly good terms with a certain member who's nickname begins with an "i", though.

/me waits for this to end up closed and/or hidden, like the rest of the threads "the plague of AfterDawn" has taken victim to its pointless cause.

As Sister Mary Elephant so succinctly put it in the early 70s: Everyone

Wasn't me either...everyone knows I wouldn't have been able to keep my big mouth shut. Now I'm mad because I didn't get a chance to defend myself.

garmoon, i didn't do it as i just found out. some people just can't leave things alone, can't they so maybe they have to be taught a lesson to learn from it. has anybody noticed except for the mods that ireland's nic is still active so what does that imply again except for the mods?

Not that I care about a n00b account or anything, I just like the gif...

It's a curse alright.. I thought this situation was under control with those of us who felt like chewing it over doing it privately. Lets face it.. things can suck, that's life. I suppose while we are being honest then I may as well have my $0.04 for what it's worth (inflation!)

How I see it.. A defunct part of the site was closed.. and the people who had put years into it had no function any more. I can feel there was some discussion about the mods and where they should go, and maybe it was decided that they didn't fit the bill for this side.. dunno, and don't care..
It's well known that mods make enemies, often it's only the title and powers that keep the wolves off. It's my experience that it is almost impossible to continue on a site after losing mod/admin status.

More honesty.. I have to admit to having a bit of a giggle when I was told that ireland had been given the chop..2cool called him the wicked witch.. that also gave me a laugh. I don't think he was really being personally nasty.. more expressing a feeling which I hear and see a lot in my lurkings. cool being cool he just comes out with it (subtlty not being in his skillset).. Then I stopped and had a think.. and want to know something? I found I liked ireland.. We had some really great laughs.. I used to like winding him up until I could almost see the steam coming out of his ears.. the horses ass night being one of the best examples.. Fair enough, his habit of posting huge articles in seemingly random places did appear to annoy a lot of people.. I wasn't that worried about those.. They were usually either something I was interested to see, or if not easy enough to skip over.. Anyway.. isn't that part of a moderators job to post interesting and informative threads to keep things running forward?
I know gerry was particularly friendly with ireland, and I can totally understand where he is coming from.. and there comes the big issue.. We don't know what was said behind closed doors, and unless the people directly concerned want to come forward and post it all openly we never will. For all we know ireland and jaybo didn't want to be mods here and said so.. As to how many people could have stuck knives in as soon as the titles changed is anybodys guess. We can feel upset, we can feel angry or we can do a little celebration dance.. whatever.. It doesn't change facts and as it stands it happens that some people feel that friends have been dumped on (ooo.. an opinion.. dangerous in the current climate)
Now it comes to pass I'm a little distracted and upset.

I want to kill somebody, but for real not in the virtual world......

If you will excuse me I need to get a spade and go scrape my poor cat off the road outside the front of the house. Nice job for a morning, and caused by somebodys total carelessness and lack of concern for the wishes of others.

My last say on this! I want to ask ireland why he didn't make an attempt to calm gerry down while he was committing "post suicide" on his behalf?? Your nick was/is still active and his is not. JM2C.

Seems like this is becoming the new gripe thread. LOL

Excellent observation garmoon, but I doubt if we will ever get the answer to that one.

..."Then one of the twelve apostles, Judas Iscariot, went to talk to the leading priests. He said, “What will you pay me for giving Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty silver coins. After that, Judas watched for the best time to turn Jesus in."

I thought this whole thing was already way past silly. Seems it's now reached new heights of absurdity (& blasphemy too) :)
