today acekard 2i team has released the update patch for 3DS V4.2.0-9. ak2i flashcard is working great on V4.2 3ds after this update. download: Firmware Update of AK2i for console 3DS4.2 and DSi1.4.4 AKAIO V1.89 if you have updated your 3ds to V4.2.0-9, then just use a DS Lite to update your ak2i with the update patch above. if you plan to buy acekard 2i for your 3DS V4.2.0-9, make sure buy a preflashed acekard 2i, just like here: http://www.dsflashcart.com/acekard-2i-flashcart-for-nintendo-ds-dsi-3ds-p-251.html so you dont need to update it by yourself when you receive it. This is good news for many acekard 2i users.
Luckily,i received my acekard2i from a store that has pre-flashed my ak2i in advance,so i dont need any updating ,i have tested,it works perfectly on my 3DS V4.2.0-9.
so i updated my AKAIO to 1.89 but my 3ds firmware and then ran the above firmware for acekard 2i, but my 3ds itself is still 2.20 what am i doing wrong? how to get it to 4.1 or 4.2? thank you
Make sure you update your Acekard 2i first before you update your 3DS firmware.
