I'm totally lost and I would appreciate some help to this questions:

1 - When you say 'AVI movies' does it mean 'Xvid or DivX movies ? All my movies I download have the extension 'AVI' but in fact they were encoded with DivX or, more frequently, Xvid codec. I must treat them as AVI or Xvid/DivX movie ?

    2 - I used DVD2SVCD and QuEnc to encode one of them and now I have a bunch of files such as: Encoded_audio_1.mp2 , MPlex_Muxed_File00.mpg , Extracted_audio_1.mpa , dvd2svcd chapters file.ini and many others.

3 - I downloaded a *.SRT file with the subtitles for the movie. Can I add this file now and burn it to a DVD-R ?

4 - How and which programs do I use ?

    Thanks a lot !

    1) Avi is a container (unlike mpg), that wraps up a video track and an audio track. They can be encoded with any codec, included divx/xvid. There are also many other codecs, but divx/xvid are one of the best at the time. Surely they will be overrun by avc-codecs in no time.

    2) That's not even a question.

    4) Above.
