lmao, i know, what's wrong with generic English. i'm a techie by heart and manage to speak comprehensible English at the same time. And i don't even wear a bowler hat by the way (i know you don't pulsar, you live up Norf!)

pulsar, i'm 17 and i don't get most of this stuff. basically, i think it comes from the popular culture today of youth imitating rappers, and rappers coming up with more and more idiotic and pointless crap to try to sound fresh and cool with their slang and style.

it seems to me that people don't understand how incredibly stupid they sound most of the time.

i agree with you, however you know how emotive stuff like this is - some of the youth of today think it's cool to sound like Eminem and wave their arms around/grab their groin and stuff; while i listen to Eminem now and then, i think it's exceptionally un-cool when they hang around in the queue at McDonalands using all the slang and wavy arms/attitude etc, especially when the furthest they've been into that whole scene is to an Eminem concert

i suppose they don't realize the damage that could be done by trying to be some "tuff dawg" when they're nothing but a "fluff dawg." arg, did i just say that? jesus, people ask me why i hate rap...it's a great scapegoat for a lot of the problems with youth today. everyone wants to rebel but they never realize how to do it without risking quite a bit.

pulsar, i'm one of those who sits on the fence with this sort of thing, purely as you will get 600 noobs shout at you for dissing rap LOL. This is one of the reasons why i stay away from PS2/gaming/PC forums within afterdawn/other websites, as the teens just p*** me off with their bull**** talk/attitudes. I don't know how you guys put up with all that slang/'mobile phone speak' kind of mentality

i can't stand the rednecks in this area that try to be "gangsta". you ever see a kid dressed in the baggy clothes with the "bling" but speak with a heavy country accent? it's disturbing.

@ creaky, Yep you're correct. I don my flat cap through the week (esp at the greyhound races), doffing it at the Upper class (I know my place!). The bowler only comes out on special occasions. Like when the Queen comes round for tea & crumpets.

That doesn't happen very often BTW.

@Ustop - we're only messing. i'm always having the mickey taken out of my accent at work as the way sentences tail off make people laugh. Strange as some of those i work with have more bizarre accents than me :)

Again, what the hell does that mean?

@ Ragepro, for the love of God, why can't you type properly? Are you lacking in something?
