My Xbox is now softmodded! Ya! Now I gotta find a crossovercable...

Okay now that it is modded how would I play it off the disk? And if these are going to the hard drive how do I play the maps off the hard drive? So how do you play off the disk and off the hard drive?

Also how do I manually copy Halo 2 to my Hard Drive?

Does applying SPPF patches change the regular map into a modded map?

Finally, If I follow this tut to put it on the main menu will I need apply the SPPF patch?

Okay from my last post I found out how to add Halo 2 to my Xbox Hard Drive.

So I found out playing off the disk means just putting the disk in the Xbox and playing it.

To play it off the hard drive I have to go to my Modded Dashboard and play it from there right?

Forgot to say if anyone can answer these questions...

Does applying SPPF patches change the regular map into a modded map?

If I follow this tut to put it on the main menu will I need to apply the SPPF patch?

Also if I accedently play Campaign off my hard drive,, how will I fix it?

.Sppf's are usually mods so if one is applied to a map then it should be modded and then you would have to resign it if it's a new map and fix its encryption if it's an old map.

If you have the stock Xbox harddrive and you put only the Halo 2 multiplayer maps and you choose the campaign, you will probably get an error that says 'Your disc may be dirty or damaged' and then you can just restart your Xbox.

Once Halo 2 is on your Xbox harddrive you play through your modded dashboard.

With this tutorial, you just learn how to added a map to the mainmenu.

Thanks but will I need to apply the SPPF patch if I want to add the map on the main menu?

    Thanks FuZ3

And on the last step it sasy rename the folders...if just add a 2 in front of it will it work?

And how can I tell which values will work?

    Thanks!

Well if you are adding a map, most likely it's modded. There isn't really a reason to add a unmodded map. But you do not need to apply a .sppf for it to show up on the mainmenu.

    Adding a 2 will work.

Also the only way I know of to find values that work are too just guess and check.

Well we have talked about that before and as of right now I know of four reasons why your maps won't load:

    1) It's corrupted because you modded it in a way so that it's unplayable.

    2) You forgot to resign(new maps) or fix the encryption(old maps) of the map you are adding.

    3) You screwed up when hex editing the map name.

    4) You chose values for the map you were adding that didn't work. You may need to play around with these some more.

Well, Im not going to write a tutorial. But you dont have to do that first step with all that bullcrap that you did. All you ahve to do is open the mainmenu in DotHalo and go to [+matg] and change the drop down box to 14 and fill in the blanks.

Well this is how I found out how to do it, so I wrote my tutorial around that.

Well I can write one and you can edit your post with mine, so not to confuse the people wanting to do it.

Whatever you want. What I may end up doing is just put both our tutorials up there and they can use either one. For some reason people can follow some of my tutorials, and some people can't. So a variety is always good.

Hey, FUS3 I have a couple questions to ask you:

    1) Do I need a softmodded or hardmodded xbox to get the mainmenu.map document?

    2) Where can I download the mainmenu.map if I do not have a softmodded or hardmodded xbox?
