Adobe Photoshop Help

I want to make some cool wallpapers with my game name on them. I know a little about adobe but not much. I already have tons of cool wallpapers. The problem is when I go to put the text on them (My Game Name) I get to pick from regular flat plain colors. My question is how to I make the Text all flashy and nice and professional looking. Do you guys use textures or something to make the text look neat?
