I'm new at this DVD recording thing. Please help out a little here if there is anyone out there who knows a lot more than I do. I just wanna know, "what is the best brand of DVD-R/DVD+R writer (for comps) I can get to record/backup U.S.A. DVDs?" I just want to record/backup mostly DVD-5 and DVD-9's onto a 4.7 DVD-R/DVD+R disk, plain and simple. Any advice would help out a lot. Thanks.

The best? Plextor, either the 708 or the 712.

Other good brands, LiteOn, NEC, and Pioneer. Next to Plextor I prefer LiteOn.
