You could potentially use that much in a 64-bit OS, but for the moment there's no need to do it.

technically no, but OCing is so damned easy, and even if you much up, you just clear CMOS, so i say why not?

you go into bios, adjust ram to FBS, and up the FBS a little, and when you cant, either put it to the highest stable fbs, or give it a bit more voltage, and lower the multiplier, and add more fbs.

So the heatsink with the cpu is garbage in words?

no its fine for normal working, and veyr light Ocing, could take the Q6600 from 2.4 to about 2.8 w.o being to loud and thermally being distraught, but anythign more than light OCing, and it shouldnt really be considered

2.8? You think it'd get that far? You've got to consider the Q6600 puts out 130W even at stock.

The chipset on the GA-P35C-DS3R gets warm, but compared to my P5N-E SLI it may as well be stone cold.
You're correct, the Core 2 Duo is 65W. Note that the Quad is exactly double? See why? :)
