I am new to the forum and am in the market to buy a DVd recorder. I have satellite with a PVR so do not need a DVD recorder with Hard drive. I also want to make sure the DVD recorder I buy does not copy protection because I want to convert VHS to DVD and also burn movies from the PVR to DVD. I have narrowed down the players to:
    Pioneer DVR-220
    Panasonic DMR-E55
    Philips DVDR72(from Walmart).

I would appreciate any advice from others.

i have the panasonic dmr-E85H and it does have copy protection against rental or purchased vhs tapes. however, if your tapes are recorded from tv, then you wont have any problems with any recorder.

so i would think the panasonic dmr-e55 would have the same copy protection. i dont know about the other two.
