What's strange is that, in the link you provided, everything works.

I bet you were even logged in? You can look at all the old posts but you can't reply to them. It was kind of nostalgic looking back at some of the old threads.

No, I wasn't logged in. Those old threads contain a wealth of information for those not using the latest and greatest software.

Most of the latest and greatest these days is the old Software. It was when Nero was at its height and Imgburn was born out of DVD-Decrypter.

If you look back through the old forums you will notice that few of them are filled with help threads. Most are threads of shared interest where for instance groups of PC builders would gather and discuss overclocking, and others would discuss the latest techniques in DVD video backup, and some frequented both. People surfing the net would come across these threads of interest and join to engage and yes some would join to ask for help in overcoming a technical issue. They would in turn join a group and stick around and that in my view is how AD grew in numbers. Today members seem to wait for someone to drop by asking for help, they do their best to help, until the issue is resolved or the OP moves on. That in my view is why few of those needing help stay around once they're issue comes to a halt or is concluded, there's nothing to keep them here. If we want things to happen then we need to make them happen by feeling the pulse of what people are interested in, create discussion threads to serve those interests, and then service them to keep them fluid.

Where would you put a thread on how to PhotoShop using freeware software?
